Jeffrey Britz is the Chairman, and CEO of @JuJuRoyalBrand, a brand created for and inspired by Julian Marley, Reggae musician, and son of Bob Marley. The brand’s medicinal herbs are grown naturally, and its extracts are crafted using high-quality solventless technology.

We recently invited Jeffrey for a Q&A session to talk about his background and his company JuJu Royal.

Ganjly: What is your background and what made you decide to pursue a career in cannabis?

Jeffrey Britz: I am a serial entrepreneur and have built a number of businesses, including an apparel company, a tax shelter firm, and a chain of physical therapy centers. I knew the cannabis industry was going to explode, and as soon as I realized a license with Julian Marley was available, I jumped in.

Ganjly: How many employees do you have and what kind of traits do you look for when hiring new members?

Jeffrey Britz: We have 8 employees. We look for honest, hard-working people with whom we can enjoy working with.

Ganjly: What is the most challenging experience you have had in the cannabis industry so far?

Jeffrey Britz: It can sometimes be difficult to get calls returned. Other than that, no problems.

Ganjly: What is your proudest moment since you started down this path of being an entrepreneur in the cannabis space?

Jeffrey Britz: Having Julian perform at parties and seeing how much fun everyone had.

Ganjly: Do you have plans for new products, services or events and would you be willing to drop any hints about what we can expect from your company in the future?

Jeffrey Britz: We are talking with additional celebrity brands.

Ganjly: What is your advice for hopeful cannabis entrepreneurs who are considering joining the cannabis industry? What are the positives and negatives they should expect?

Jeffrey Britz: Be very careful. Pricing is under great pressure if you plan to cultivate flower. On a positive note, the industry is young and growing, and if you bring a good idea or product to the game, you can succeed.
